Through rigorous scientific investigations on Yogic practices the Kaivalyadhama has made Yoga more accepted and accessible to modern man. Due to the Kaivalyadhama’s great efforts, Yoga is now taught in the school systems of India from elementary school through the university level.
Kaivalyadhama, USA emphasizes the scientific substantiation of Yoga and promotes its use as both an alternative and complimentary approach to health.
Stress and stress-related disorders, on the physical and mental level, are on the rise in today’s world, both at home and in the workplace. These disorders are costly to treat and take a heavy toll on individuals. Multiple doctor visits for chronic stress often lead to greater dependence on medication for temporary relief.
Yoga has been scientifically proven to prevent and reduce stress. A thirty-minute Yoga class, which includes stretching and contraction of deep muscle tissue, can revitalize you and fill you with energy. It is our objective to introduce you to traditional Yoga postures (Asanas) and breathing practices (Pranayamas) so you can relax and rejuvenate. It is also our objective to introduce the textual tradition behind Yoga. These texts are the origins of Yoga and can give us tools to manage imbalances of the mind.
Yoga is an ancient discipline that has evolved over the centuries and was formulated into the Yoga Sutras by Sage Patanjali. Yoga is a discipline that addresses both our physical and mental states. It is a system that acknowledges the interdependence of the mind and body. Yoga trains the body to be “sthitipragnya”: a state where the body is at utmost ease. Yoga also trains the mind to be undisturbed by external stimuli.
